Portaal is an installation created within the exhibition/event part of interior architecture BA thesis. It is based on the analysis of a fellow student’s (Linda-Maria Urke) portfolio, artist statement and interview.
Abstract portfolio sheets floating in the wind create a play of sound and light. The high but narrow space creates an intimate experience for the visitor. Upon entering, the ceiling doesn’t remain in the field of vision, only the vertical room and the horizont of the sea. By looking up or lying down, the nature of the space shifts and the visitor enters the portfolio. Linda-Maria’s portfolio and personality are expressed by the different perspectives within a meditative spatial experience.
